On another thread a bunch of us played around in the creative sandbox of pondering what we would love to do if we weren’t doing what we are currently doing. Speaking for myself, I have always cherished dreaming about my cornucopia of imaginary career alternatives. And as a result, the number of hyphens in my “job description” keeps multiplying.
By recognizing the abundance of dreams and options, the freer I feel. The sense of “What’s the worst thing that could happen” shifts to “What are the best things that could happen?” Which lead me to think about this Star Wars quote:
THE MORE YOU TIGHTEN YOUR GRIP, THE MORE STAR SYSTEMS WILL SLIP THROUGH YOUR FINGERS.
Personally, when I try holding on to one thought, one approach, one career option and one false sense of control, the more I have discovered how much I miss out on and lose in the process.
YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE
Really, for me, how boring would it be to clock in and out of just one career, one adventure, one opportunity? I want to die with a giant hat rack toppling over from an enormous and vast array of different hats I have tried on and worn in my life.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS?
