It’s 2019.   If you are trying to establish yourself as an artist (and composers are artists), a strong social media presence is pretty much becoming a must.  What exists of you out there?  How are you making your mark?  What stories are you telling about yourself, your music and your brand?

ARE YOU OUT THERE?

A random sample of folks on this Forum shows a very low, borderline non-existent,  social media presence for most members.

EASY TO START

The bar of entry to create YouTube content is no higher than:

1. An idea

2. A smart phone to shoot and edit upon

3. Execution of your idea

4. Posting

SELF-EMPOWERED

This isn’t about what others do or do not do.  This isn’t about how music is valued/devalued.  This isn’t about definitions of compensation.  It isn’t about fairness or gatekeepers.  It is simply about doing.

THE CHALLENGE

My challenge is this easy:

MAKE A YOUTUBE VIDEO THAT SOMEHOW FEATURES YOU AS AN ARTIST.

That’s it.  Use your creativity.  Use your skills.  Don’t worry about views.  Don’t worry about likes and shares. All that can come later. But for now…

JUST DO IT!

Feel free to post your YouTube videos below.   Please indicate whether you would like feedback from others or not.

ONE RULE:

For the purpose of this particular challenge, please do not link to videos of just scenes/films you have scored.  This includes just footage cut to your music.  This is about YOU creating video content not just showing stuff you have scored.

For inspiration, here are some links to some composer YouTube and Instagram videos.
