“Offered a chance to audition musical ideas for “Captain Marvel,” Pinar Toprak pulled out all the stops,” says an article in Variety. “She composed about seven minutes of music and hired a 70-piece orchestra in L.A. to perform it. Then she created a short video of herself in her studio explaining her ideas. She won over directors Boden and Fleck and got the job.”
Personally, I, Richard Kraft, have always loved demonstrating what I can do.
I have always had lots of dreams in my head that need demonstration, proof of concept or spec work to articulate and show others what I am imaging.
Throughout my life I have invested my time, energy and resources into finding the most effective ways to bring my ideas to life in trying to sell them, and myself, to others.
I haven’t expected someone else to invest in me demonstrating my ideas and dreams. I’m the one who is presenting and selling them.
I am aware of very few businesses who expect others to finance their sales and presentational tools.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON SHOWING WHAT YOU CAN DO?
