I find it interesting how different people put different values on investments in their careers.
Some are comfortable in paying for education, but not in outlays for equipment.
Some are agreeable to spending on equipment, but not on building a support team.
Some are open to building a support team, but not recording with live musicians.
Some are willing to invest in recording with live musicians, but not in demoing.
Some are open to demoing but not in paying for marketing and promotion.
Some will invest in publicity but not in project creation…
The list goes on and on.
The great thing about career building is it all comes down to personal choice. Everyone gets to prioritize how they allocate their time, energy and resources.
And NONE of it (education, equipment, teams, live recording, demonstrating, publicity, creation) comes with a guarantee.
It is ALL risk.
