I used to send the demos/mock ups to directors and then go with their feedbacks, but around a year ago, I started to include a short description(PDF) regarding what is happening in the score and what am I about to achieve musically, since then I noticed a major different in communicating with directors and also understand them and their vision better while they accept and understand my ideas better,
At times I did a short video of myself explaining the score and show the proccess to the director.
Besid writing down your approach/vision what else do you do?
Send more than one cue? Have a phone call?
