IT’S HARD OUT HERE FOR A PIMP

As the Three 6 Mafia lamented in their Oscar-winning song, it’s hard out here for a pimp.

It is also hard for composers and bookkeepers and writers and school teachers and restaurateurs and gardeners and actors and social workers and filmmakers and soldiers and agents and doctors and singers and salespeople.

Because LIFE IS DIFFICULT.

Every person can catalogue all the obstacles they must face. And, regardless of the scope or level of difficulty to try to overcome them, none of it comes easy or automatically.

Being in a position to even attempt to earn a living as a media composer is extremely hard.

Pulling it off is even harder.

Having any success at it is even more difficult.

Sustaining that success for years is ridiculously difficult.

And sustaining it over the course of decades is nothing short of miraculous.

Drive down the street. How many businesses and restaurants have stood there for decades?

Look at you the music charts. How many of those artists have keep it going for thirty or forty years?

Even Three 6 Mafia found it hard out here after winning an Academy Award.

And therefore…

All any of us can do is to just keep swimming and learning and growing and evolving and reinventing and trying.
